STATEMENT BY BLOOM365 | JUNE 2, 2020

We choose LOVE...always.

We are numb, but not silent. On May 25, 2020 our nation was reminded that the abuse of power and control is not only harmful, but lethal, when George Floyd, a black man, was suffocated by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our hearts and thoughts are with the families, friends, and communities who mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the many victims who never made the headlines.

At bloom365, our vision is to #UprootAbuse in a generation. It is because of this vision that we denounce racism, injustice and violence in all its forms. We stand in solidarity with the Black community. Although we struggle with finding the right words to cultivate healing and trust during these times of immense anger, unrest and pain, silence is not an option. All of us at bloom365 re-affirm our commitment and promise to Bring Love On Others More, 365 Days A Year. We will continue to have uncomfortable and transformational conversations with teens and the trusted adults in their lives on how rigid gender norms, social acceptance and oppression normalize interpersonal violence. As Next Gen anti-violence advocates, we will become more intentional in our efforts to ensure that the experiences of young survivors of color are amplified in every layer of our education, advocacy and activism work. And as a team of allies and advocates we will reflect on (and strengthen) our commitment to inclusion and equity - starting with human resources, governance and outreach. "Hope" is the belief that things can change for the better. We have hope that the power of LOVE, amplified through a generation, is enough to root out abuse and violence in relationships, homes, schools, and communities.

BLOOM365 STANDS IN PEACE AND SOLIDARITY WITH BLACK LIVES MATTER.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.”
